I am a Lecturer in Physics at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. At present, I conduct research in Lightning Physics and Discharge Physics at the Institute of High Voltage Research, Uppsala University, Sweden.

My wife is Nilanthi. We have two nasty kids, Ashen and Amesh.

Lightning and Thunder are my bread and butter. I am also interested in Red Sprites and Blue Jets, Cloud Physics, Aurora, Tornadoes and Hurricanes.
